ESC criticises French minimum wage rule

The European Shippers’ Council (ESC) has criticises the French minimum wage rule, labelling it “unacceptable”. It said that it fears the rule will spark chaos when it comes into force on 1st July.

Implementation of the rule will mean that all foreign transport workers visiting France must carry documents to prove they are “paid according to the French legislation”.

The council has also embraced plans for the European Commission to start an infringement procedure.
