The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Malaysia (CILTM) Sabah and Koridor Utility Sabah (KUS) have announced that they are collaborating to position utility as a core component of Sabah’s infrastructure, logistics, and development strategy.
Through strategic cooperation, the two organisations aim to synchronise utility projects with roadworks, industrial zones, urban expansion, and logistics hubs.
This integrated approach is designed to reduce duplication, minimise delays, and deliver cohesive, sustainable infrastructure to support Sabah’s long-term growth.
CILTM Sabah is contributing a network of local professionals and subject matter experts to support KUS in advancing smarter, more efficient utility planning processes that align with transport and logistics requirements.
Koridor Utiliti Sabah Sdn Bhd (KUSSB) was formally established on 1 March under a joint venture between Qhazanah Sabah Sdn Bhd (QSB) and Karisma Utiliti Bornei Sdn Bhd.
Operating under a one-stop agency (OSA) model, KUSSB is tasked with coordinating, planning, regulating, and managing utility infrastructure development across the state.
The collaboration is expected to place utilities at the forefront of development planning, strengthening integrated infrastructure delivery and supporting a more competitive, connected, and people-focused economy.
CILTM Sabah chairman Daniel Doughty said: “The establishment of KUS is a bold step in transforming how Sabah plans its future. Utilities are the hidden lifelines of development.
“When planned well, they power industries, connect communities and drive logistics efficiency.
“CILTM Sabah is proud to bring our pool of Sabahan experts to support KUS in this mission of building smarter, stronger and future-ready infrastructure,” he explained.
