German logistics company, Dachser Food Logistics has opened new facilities in Italy and the Netherlands.
The two new facilities in Waddinxveen (the Netherlands) and Parma (Italy), support the company’s mission for growth across Europe.
The new Dutch facility, located near Rotterdam, has around 17,000 pallet spaces distributed across ambient, chilled, and frozen temperature zones.
It is part of the Rotterdam Logistics Center, where the company’s air and sea freight division operates a Container Freight Station that consolidates general cargo shipments from across Europe and ships them worldwide by sea.
The new warehouse brings all Dachser’s services “under one roof”, including Müller Fresh Food Logistics, acquired in early 2023 and Scandinavian company Frigoscandia, which became part of Dachser in April 2024:
“Waddinxveen is a prime example of how we can offer our customers logistics services for Europe and the world, bundled and from a single source at one location,” said Alexander Tonn, chief operating officer, road logistics at Dachser.
“The short distances between the warehouses create ideal conditions for integrated and comprehensive collaboration across our business lines,” he added.
On 20 October, Dachser opened a new 12,200m2 warehouse with 2,000m2 of refrigerated space in Parma, at the heart of Italy’s so-called “Food Valley”.
The new warehouse is located on the site of the existing Dachser & Fercam Italia branch, combining “the efficiency of the European general cargo network with specialisation in the requirements of food logistics”.
