DP World has launched a new sea-based cold chain corridor enabling Turkish eggs to reach consumers across the Middle East and the USA.
Initially, the weekly service will transport 6.7 million eggs per month. DP World projects volumes of up to 450 million eggs annually as the corridor scales and matures.
Eggs will be transported in refrigerated containers through DP World’s global port and transshipment network, the global logistics company said.
The internationally certified cold storage facilities and continuous temperature monitoring will ensure that eggs remain fresh.
“Eggs are delicate products, but with the right combination of technology, expertise and global infrastructure, we can move them safely and efficiently across continents,” said Kris Adams, DP World’s executive vice president for Eastern Europe.
According to data from World Integrated Trade Solution, Türkiye was the world’s third largest exporter of eggs in 2024, after the Netherlands and Poland. The UAE was a major market, receiving 40% of Turkish egg exports that year.
DP World said it already handles 30% of total exports transported by sea, noting that the new route aligns with its broader strategy to enhance global cold chain capacity.
Last year, DP World introduced its new Atlas service between Morocco and the UK and northern Europe.
