DP World has embarked on a significant brand transformation, unifying three of its key marine services businesses, Unifeeder, P&O Ferrymasters and P&O Maritime Logistics (POML) under a single brand.
The move brings the operations together as Shipping Solutions, Multimodal Solutions and Maritime Solutions, respectively, marking “a major step” in DP World’s evolution from a port operator into a fully integrated logistics provider.
Over the coming months, the legacy brands will fully transition to DP World across all digital, physical and customer touchpoints. However, the leadership teams, services and infrastructure remain unchanged.
The unified businesses will provide integrated, multimodal connectivity across continents, enabling customers to move cargo efficiently, sustainably and reliably.
Shipping Solutions boasts a fleet of 150 vessels connecting more than 200 ports. Multimodal Solutions manages over 100 rail modalities and 14 inland terminals across Europe and the UK, providing specialised handling for diverse cargo types. Finally, Maritime Solutions operates a fleet of more than 400 vessels, including 17 MCVs designed for complex project cargo, also delivering pilotage and towage services at ports worldwide.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, group chairman and CEO at DP World, said: “We are building a future where trade flows effortlessly. While we honour the legacy of the brands we have built, we are now evolving together as one DP World team to further enhance our customer offering across the globe.”
Ganesh Raj, global chief operating officer, Marine Services at DP World added: “As supply chains evolve, so must we… Our customers will interact with a unified brand that represents who we are today.”
In October, POML completed the acquisition of a controlling stake in NovaAlgoma Cement Carriers (NACC), a transporter of dry-bulk commodities, strengthening DP World’s presence in the breakbulk and dry-bulk sectors.
