Durham Brands’ Gimme Beauty has significantly increased warehouse productivity and accuracy following the implementation of a new warehouse management system (WMS).
Deployment of the system from Infios has enabled the fast-growing US hair accessories company to scale operations without additional labour.
Since deploying the WMS, inventory accuracy has reached 98.5%, with zero audit errors recorded for the first time. The company also exceeded its December peak by 170%, while nearly doubling throughput from 10,000 to 19,000 cases per full-time equivalent.
The transformation comes after Durham Brands experienced sustained growth of more than 30% year-on-year, through supplying major US retailers including Target, Walmart, Kroger and Ulta. Increasing order volumes, SKU complexity and warehouse expansion had placed pressure on legacy systems, which relied heavily on manual processes.
Through the new platform, the company introduced system-directed workflows across picking, license plating, lot control and scanning, within a unified fulfilment environment. These capabilities have eliminated manual steps, improved visibility and reduced mis-ship risk.
Speaking about the WMS, Jeff Durham, CEO of Durham Brands, said: “We scaled through our biggest volume surge in company history without adding labour, while improving accuracy and creating opportunities to promote from within.”
The system’s intuitive workflows and NetSuite integration also empowered employees across the operation – including a hearing-impaired, Spanish-speaking team member who now independently manages e-commerce fulfilment.
Durham Brands also strengthened inventory control and financial performance by moving to continuous cycle counting and improving lot visibility, enabling more strategic sourcing decisions and generating hundreds of thousands of dollars in tariff savings.
