Ellerman City Liners, part of GB Global, has announced the acquisition of Norwegian-owned shortsea operator Viasea Shipping from ColliCare Holding AS.
The move bolsters GB Global’s European network, expanding its shortsea coverage across key European ports, while also enhanching service resilience in challenging maritime conditions.
The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Established in 2016, Viasea operates regular schedules between the UK, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, and Lithuania, offering environmentally friendly alternatives to road freight.

Morten Pettersen, managing director of Viasea Shipping, described the deal with Ellerman City Liners as a natural evolution for Viasea.
