Jettainer and IBS Software have announced a collaboration that aims to transform the way airlines and ground handlers manage unit load devices (ULDs) and cargo operations.
The long-term strategic partnership will see Jettainer integrate its ULD management solution (JettWareNG), with IBS Software’s digital cargo management platforms (iCargo and iPartner Handling).
According to the companies, this integration will enable faster, more secure, and seamless data exchange across the air cargo ecosystem.
For ULD positioning, move orders would be automatically integrated into the loading plans, rather than having to be executed manually. Sharing of tracking data will also support real-time information on ULD positions and availability at individual locations.
Initial integration is expected to be available later this year. Longer term, Jettainer customers who also use iPartner Handling will be able to access both services one umbrella.
“Partnering with IBS Software marks a key milestone in our digital strategy, which is dedicated to creating added value and efficiency for our customers,” said Jan-Wilhelm Breithaupt, CEO of Jettainer.
Jettainer, a subsidiary of Lufthansa Cargo, operates 110,000 ULDs in 500 locations worldwide.
“Integrating with the world’s most widespread air cargo handling system and a well-established digital ecosystem is a logical next step for us,” Breithaupt added.
Radhesh Menon, head of cargo & logistics solutions at IBS Software said the cooperation is representative of the company’s “efforts to invest in the development of advanced digital tools to enable airlines and ground handlers to become more competitive and successful”.
In 2023, IBS Software acquired Accenture Freight and Logistics Software to bolster its position in the air freight industry.
