Menzies Aviation, which provides services to airports and airlines around the world, has announced it will deliver ground, air cargo and fuelling services at Mosul International Airport (OSM) in Iraq through Menzies Aviation Services Iraq Limited (MASIL), its joint venture with Iraqi Airways, Air BP and Al-Burhan Group.
Once fully operational, MASIL will is set to provide ‘a full suite of aviation services at Mosul International Airport, under a new 10-year license’. This, it says, will further strengthen its footprint in the region.
MASIL currently already has operations at Baghdad International Airport, and provided ground services for the presidential flight that signified the official reopening of Mosul International Airport, following ‘extensive reconstruction’.
After the reconstruction, the airport is now equipped with a main terminal, VIP lounge and advanced radar surveillance system.
It is expected to be fully operational in the coming months, supporting both domestic and international flights, and handling an estimated 630,000 passengers annually.
