Automotive company MG Motor has announced plans to bolster its UK presence by opening a new 15,000m² warehousing and parts distribution centre in Daventry, Northamptonshire.
The facility will initially employ 40 people but has further capacity to meet future demand for MG parts and services, according to MG Motor.
The new distribution centre is being established in partnership with XPO Logistics, a leading UK and European third-party logistics provider.
“XPO Logistics is a proven partner, with an excellent record when it comes to supporting major automotive operations. We’ve been impressed by their warehousing and delivery technology solutions and the benefits these will bring to MG customers,” stated Guy Pigounakis, commercial director at MG Motor UK.
The Daventry hub will support more than 150 UK retailers as well as 340,000 customers, while helping MG Motor to deliver to dealers faster, simplify ordering and boost capacity.
“More than just a facility, it represents our commitment to efficiency, quality, and care in everything we do,” Pigounakis added.
Notably, the new Northamptonshire facility will enable MG to introduce a range of initiatives at its historic Longbridge site, with a strong focus on skills development and training. More details are expected to be announced in the spring of 2026.
Dan Myers, managing director for the UK and Ireland at XPO Logistics, noted the deal as testament to XPO’s position as a leading automotive logistics provider. “We have always been successful in the automotive aftermarket arena and partnering with an iconic British brand like MG…is proof yet again that we are leading in this space.”
Earlier this year, homeware brand Joseph Joseph announced a partnership with XPO Logistics in the UK.
