Scan Global Logistics has started operating in Egypt, increasing its presence in the MEA region.
The company’s new head office is located at the City Stars Complex in Cairo, with further offices expected to open in 2026.
The expansion into Egypt aligns with Scan’s ambition to expand its footprint in the MENAT region. The company also operates in Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the UAE.
The expansion into Egypt will be led by Scan general manager, Ahmed Habib, who has more than 20 years of experience in the logistics industry.
“Establishing direct operations in Egypt allows us to maintain full control over local operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality service,” he said.
SGL will offer cross-border and regional logistics services, including ocean, air, and road freight services, and project cargo management, alongside warehousing and supply chain management.
Egypt’s strategic location at the crossroads of Africa, the Middle East and Europe position the country as a critical logistics gateway between East and West and intra-continental trade.
Government-led initiatives that focus on infrastructure improvements, regulatory reforms and trade facilitation aim to establish Egypt as an international logistics and trade hub, making it an ideal location for Scan’s regional expansion, the company said.
In July, Logistics Manager reported that a pilot project conducted by the Port of NEOM in Saudi Arabia and the nation’s Logistics Partnership Council had established a new intermodal trade corridor connecting Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iraq.
