Asda has appointed pallet distribution network Pall-Ex as a nominated carrier in a move which it says will help to manage inbound flows more effectively and maximise capacity.
Pall-ex will be responsible for collecting freight from the supermarket giant’s UK stationery vendors which it will then consolidate at its Leicestershire-based central hub.
The company will then make deliveries to Asda’s distribution centre in Doncaster each week, helping to create fewer deliveries of smaller consignments and improving efficiency.
