Cat lift truck distributor Briggs Equipment has launched a live auction site for its dealer network across the UK and into Europe, to keep up with high demand for used equipment.
Briggs achieved sales of more than £1 million during May this year for used machines and has seen its used truck sales sustained at 2007 levels, despite the fact it says the market in general is over 50 per cent down.
The distributor puts its continued success down to a strong online presence, its dedicated online stock database, as well as the newly launched auction site.
John Murphy, Briggs Equipment’s used equipment manager, said: “We have 750 or so dealers in the UK and hundreds more internationally and the new auction site makes sure our customers have regular access to great quality machines at exceptionally competitive prices. Each auction lasts for approximately a week and features carefully chosen trucks from our 600-strong stock database.”
He added: “We have dedicated workshops where we fully inspect and conduct a major rework of the truck before it goes out. This means that customers get a truck that is next-to-new in terms of its performance, reliability and operating costs, while saving up to 60 per cent.”
The company also offers a range of warranties on used equipment.
