European storage equipment manufacturer Constructor Group is set to invest more than £1 million in renovating a recently acquired distribution hub after taking over Swindon-based Planned Storage Systems.
The move is designed to streamline the company’s UK operations and strengthen its position in the UK market.
The company has appointed the architect and design team of property consultant King Sturge to provide bespoke designs for the site.
This new distribution hub will add to the group’s existing UK warehouse facilities and provide a storage and cross-docking operation for products delivered from other group factories and third party suppliers.
Following the renovation the company plans to extend the portfolio of products it offers to the UK market.
Managing director Richard Moss said: “Now that PSS has joined the UK team, it provides us with a real opportunity to strengthen our UK position.
“The Swindon premises were quite tired and didn’t reflect our modern approach to the storage marketplace, which customers expect from a leading storage provider. With the support of King Sturge we have formulated what we believe is an excellent platform to grow our position in the UK market.”
