P&O Ferrymasters has launched a less than container load service from Germany and Benelux to Ireland.
The service is being run in co-operation with distribution specialist The Pallet Network, which is located in Ireland.
It will use trailers based on daily collections from Germany and Benelux, with cross-docking facilities in Europort on to 45ft curtainside containers.
Initially there will be two departures per week from Europort to the port of Dublin, with TPN distributing directly across Ireland to end customers.
P&O plans to increase the frequency of the service once it has been extablished.
Containers will depart on Tuesdays and Fridays, with arrivals in Dublin on Friday and Monday mornings. A track and trace capability and ADR option will also be available.
