Road freight network operator RH Freight, has launched a daily service from the UK to Helsinki.
The service runs from RH’s Thurrock depot to the port of Travemunde in Northern Germany, before connecting with a daily sailing from there to Helsinki.
There are no daily sailings direct from the UK to Finland, so consignments have previously only departed 2 days per week.
RH operates the route via Germany every day, in both directions.
Deputy managing director, Andrew Baxter, said, “The route via Travemunde allows us to offer a special 72-hour express product to Finland to our customers. At the moment about a third of the groupage that we carry to Finland is being transported on this route.”
