UPS promotes Capozzoli
Matt Capozzoli, a veteran UPS executive, has been appointed vice president of flight operations for UPS Airlines.
Capozzoli will replace Capt. Rick Barr, who is retiring after 23 years of service.
Capozzoli has had a 34-year career with UPS. In 1977 he joined UPS ground operations as a package handler, part-time supervisor and driver. By 1987 he was promoted to the management team and worked in operations and then human resources.
In 1990, Capozzoli moved to the UPS corporate office and began serving the company as an attorney. As a senior manager, Capozzoli returned to package operations in 2005, holding district manager positions on the Eastern seaboard and in the corporate office. In 2010, Capozzoli returned to the airline, where he has managed special projects for the past year.
UPS Airlines president Mitch Nichols, said: “He started at the entry level and has spent his entire career learning the company inside and out. He has the skills and perspective to take the UPS Airlines to the next level.”
Ceva makes Zborowski senior VP of Eastern Europe
Ceva Logistics has promoted Piotr Zborowski to senior vice president of Eastern Europe.
Zborowski joined Ceva in 2008 to look after Freight Management in Poland, and became country manager in 2010. He has some 15 years experience in the logistics industry.
In the new position, Zborowski will oversee development of Ceva’s business and operations excellence programme in the Eastern European countries of Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania.
New MD for wind turbine firm
Wind turbine specialist SIAC Wind Energy has made Patrick Dormon managing director.
Dormon has more than two decades of strategic business development experience, and will play a key role in developing the company’s customer base in its key target markets.
