MIQ Logistics has appointed Rob Bongaerts vice president and managing director EMEA.
Kansas-based MIQ was launched in the summer of 2010 following the takeover of YRC Logistics by private equity investor Austin Ventures.
Bongaerts has more that 24 years experience of the transport and logistics industry and in his previous role, from 2002 to 2010, he was instrumental in the organisations’ growth in this region, opening facilities in over 26 locations.
Prior to joining MIQ Bongaerts worked for UPS, Menlo and CH Robinson.
He said: “I want to expand the footprint of MIQ Logistics across Europe by building on the foundation of our UK organisation, which has an excellent reputation in the industry for high service levels and offering true value to their clients.
“Our initial focus for this development will be in Benelux, Germany, France and Eastern Europe.”
