Transport trade unions are to hold a rally in Frankfurt tomorrow (25th May) as part of a campaign calling on the big five express carriers to reach global agreements on the treatment of workers.
The rally organised by the ITF and UNI coincides with the DHL annual meeting, and the unions aim to put questions on the treatment of workers and their rights direct to the meeting inside.
The unions are targeting UPS, TNT, FedEx and DPD Geopost. Neil Anderson, UNI global union head of post and logistics, said: “We want to remind DHL that a global player needs a global agreement: its workers are crying out for a global framework agreement that guarantees all of them basic work and union rights.”
