Scotch whisky distiller William Grant & Sons, whose brands include Glenfiddich, has signed a three year deal with Schenker to provide domestic and international freight services.
Most shipments are destined for Europe, the Middle East and Africa plus a number of South American destinations and will move by ocean although there is the option of using modes flexibly to meet customer needs.
But DB Schenker’s unique service offering of being able to provide a four modes option means that the spirits producer can use a variety of flexible services to precisely match its needs.
William Grant was founded in 1887 and brands include the Balvenie and Glenfiddich single malts along with Grants and Tullamore Dew Irish whiskey.
Schenker’s operations director Doug Coull said: “Our e-business solutions combined with our international logistics capabilities have enabled us to give William Grant & Sons a best in class service for the export of their products around the globe”.
In addition to the exports from Scotland, Schenker has also been awarded business from Clonmel in Ireland to Europe, the Middle East, North America and Russia.
