Holyhead-based Gwynedd Shipping Group has secured a £1.5m funding package from The Royal Bank of Scotland to support new contracts, including a deal with Norbert Dentressangle for delivery of steel for the Tata Group.
The finance will ensure 57 new employees will be migrated to Gwynedd Shipping from the previous supplier.
Managing director Andrew Kinsella said: “We have a long standing relationship with The Royal Bank of Scotland and we are delighted to have been able to receive this funding and continue an excellent working relationship with them. The funding they offered met our needs entirely and will enable us to grow our business.”
Gwynedd Shipping Group was established in 1984 and specialises in logistics and freight-forwarding between the UK and Ireland.
John Csizmadia, relationship director, RBS Corporate & Institutional Banking, said: “This initiative highlights the support we are giving good and ambitious businesses in the region.”
