Cargolux has rejected the first two Boeing 747-8 Freighters that were scheduled for delivery from Boeing on 19th and 21st September 2011 owing to unresolved contractual issues regarding the aircraft.
The financing of the deal has put on hold pending a resolution of the problem. The finance was secured through JP Morgan as an Ex-Im Bank guaranteed lender.
Cargolux reckons that its high season operations will be unaffected by any delay in the deal, and that it will be able to source alternative capacity to fully meet customer demand.
