Corporate clothing supplier Trojan UK has selected Briggs Equipment to supply two new Yale M010 high level order pickers and two Genie scissor lift machines at its new facility on Kings Norton Business Park in Birmingham.
Briggs advised on the best racking and recommended that guide rollers be installed on the side of the trucks’ wheels to guide the machines forward and backwards. Magnets have been put into the floors to stop the trucks moving past the end of the aisle.
Briggs used warehouse simulation software to modify its equipment to fit specifically with Trojan’s operation.
Peter McLoughlin, operations manager at Trojan said: “Our old facility was like a labyrinth and it was taking us longer to pick and dispatch our stock. We needed a new facility where we could be more self-contained and with the help of Briggs we now have a completely bespoke warehouse that will ensure we get goods in and out quickly.”
Trojan handles up to 40 orders of corporate, l and technical garments per hour and needed to improve its warehousing operations after winning a number of new contracts.
