Delivery and returns service Collect+ has doubled its volumes over the past six months and is now handling more than four million parcels per year.

The service is a joint venture between PayPoint, the retail payment network, and Yodel.

“We expect PayByPhone and the Collect+ parcel service to turn to profit in the next financial year,” said David Newlands, chairman of PayPoint in the company’s half year results.

Collect+ chief executive Mark Lewis said: “As we move into 2012, our next area of focus will be to further develop our Click & Collect+ service, which allows consumers to pick up goods bought online from their local Collect+ shop.

Collect+ will also be one of the parcel service providers for an integrated service soon to be launched by eBay, which will allow customers to print postage labels.
