Philips has taken delivery of a fleet of Flexi G3 articulated trucks at its factory at Hamilton in Scotland where it makes low pressure sodium lamps and luminaries.
It required a fleet machines capable of operating in very narrow aisles and racking. The solution recommended by Craig Davenport, Sales Manager for Carrylift was Flexi G3 electric powered articulated trucks with a 2.0 tonne lifting capacity.
The Flexi G3 works in aisles of just 1750mm, with lift heights of over 11 metres, eliminating the space needed by a reach truck or counterbalance truck to turn into racking, creating 30 per cent greater storage capacity within an existing warehouse.
Thetrucks also work inside and outside loading and off-loading wagons eliminating double handling from two trucks and cutting handling costs by up to 50 per cent and enhancing productivity at Philips.
Andy Provan, manager for Philips said: ““Carrylift have provided Philips with a complete bespoke and space efficient solution, the fleet of Flexi G3 narrow aisle trucks have helped us to improve our warehouse profitability, handling efficiency and operator safety. It has been so successful at this site that we are currently looking at implementing the same template around the world.”
