Food logistics specialist, Reed Boardall, has taken delivery of 30 Scania 500R tractor units to complement the 15 Volvo 520 tractors also acquired as part of its on-going replacement program. The company is currently replacing its 160 strong fleet, ensuring that none of its vehicles are more than three years old.
Tom Cassells, managing director of Reed Boardall Transport said: “We’re already seeing the benefits of the new vehicles. The drivers find both the Scanias and the Volvos much easier to drive and more comfortable and the increased horsepower means they are reducing their daily driving time by up to 15 minutes even when towing a double deck trailer.”
Reed Boardall operates out of a single site near Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire Reed Boardall’s temperature-controlled fleet travels more than 35 million kilometres a year.
