UPS has appointed Jim Barber to managing director, UPS UK & Ireland. Barber replaces Bill Caplan, who has taken on a post with UPS in the United States.
In his new role, Barber will oversee both the UPS and the recently acquired Lynx Express operations that together covers over 50 operational centres and six air gateways with a workforce of around 7,300 employees.
Barber began his career with UPS in 1985 as a delivery driver in the U.S. state of Georgia, before being promoted to a number of finance and accounting positions. Most recently, he was vice president of Finance & Accounting for UPS Europe, based in Brussels.
