NYK Logistics has opened a distribution centre at Aveley near South Ockenden in Essex to improve network coverage in the South East of England.
Located on a one acre site on Stifford Road, the 28,000 sq ft facility expands NYK’s national network of regional distribution platforms.
This the latest phase in the development of NYK’s national multi-user network. In addition to supporting NYK’s activities on behalf of existing customers including Bosch, Honda, Samsung and Sony, the new site has capacity to provide warehousing and local and national distribution services to local companies.
NYK anticipates that the number of people employed at Aveley will rise from 10 to at least 50 over the next six months.
