Outline consent has been granted for 1.185 million sq ft of office, industrial and warehousing accommodation plus sports facilities on the former Meaford Power Station at Stone.

The redevelopment of the 70 acre site is expected to cost developer St Modwen some £70m. It was acquired in late 2004 from the Receivers of Reach Environmental.

A detailed master plan for the site is currently being prepared. The site is adjacent to the West Coast Main Line and the Trent & Mersey Canal, midway between J14 and J15, M6.

Jones Lang LaSalle and Louis Taylor are the joint agents.
