Uniserve and AKW, a manufacturer of accessible bathroom, kitchen and mobility support solutions, have entered into a long-term strategic partnership to lease and fit out a 170,000ft² warehouse in Droitwich.
AKW appointed Uniserve to source and deliver a new facility to support its expansion and evolving operational requirements.
Manufacturer AKW will occupy 100,000ft² of space at Droitwich 170, including 10,000ft² of offices, while Uniserve will use the remaining 70,000ft² to enhance its own operations.
The BREEAM ‘Excellent’ facility is located on Berry Hill Industrial Estate, close to Junction 5 of the M5.
John Carlisle, director of operations at AKW, said: “This relocation to Droitwich 170 marks a pivotal moment in AKW’s growth strategy. By moving into a significantly larger, world-class facility and partnering with Uniserve, we are ensuring our logistics operations are backed by industry-leading expertise.”
Andrew De Vere, warehouse director at Uniserve, said the partnership was creating a strong foundation for growth and innovation.
“The delivery of a modern facility, complete with a tailored fit-out, will deliver greater operational efficiency and lay the groundwork for sustainable growth,” he said.
Harworth announced in December that it had let Droitwich 170 to Uniserve on a 10.25-year term-certain lease.
