Third-party logistics provider Arvato has broken ground on a new 40,000m² (c. 430,000ft2) warehouse in Çayırova, Turkey, 50km south of Istanbul.
The new facility will be the 11th Arvato operations centre in Turkey, significantly boosting the company’s capacity in the region.
“While we are continuing to expand our operational capabilities in Türkiye, the new site will significantly enhance Arvato’s storage and operational capacity for e-commerce and retail brands and open new potential for additional growth,” stated Umur Özkal, Managing Director Türkiye and UAE at Arvato.
The new operations centre in Çayırova is under construction on a greenfield site. It is expected to become operational in October 2026.
The facility, which is being built to European ‘Type A Big Box’ logistics campus standards, has been designed to ensure efficiency and speed across all warehouse processes.
It also “integrates a range of sustainable and people-focused innovations”, according to Arvato.
The new logistics hub will incorporate a rooftop solar PV power plant along with advanced rainwater harvesting system. Energy-efficient lighting and climate-control systems will significantly reduce the overall carbon footprint.
Additionally, the hub will feature modern, ergonomic workspaces designed around a people-centric operations model that prioritises comfort, well-being, and social connection.
In May 2025, Arvato opened its 9th warehouse in Turkey. Located 19km from Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, the 31,000m2 two-storey warehouse was another greenfield development.
Arvato said at the time that due to limited warehouse availability in Istanbul it pursued a greenfield development, from investigating the land to real estate development and project execution.
The company’s 10th facility, also in the Istanbul area, is currently under construction.
