Arvato has expanded its cross-border logistics capabilities in Türkiye, with the opening of its first Type A general bonded warehouse in the country.
The warehouse located in Istanbul-Tuzla provides 5,000m² (c. 53,800ft2) of indoor storage space, complementing Arvato’s existing regional operations.
The facility is designed to help customers manage cross-border flows more efficiently, reduce lead times and increase transparency across customs and distribution processes.
The setup supports the fashion, technology, healthcare and automotive sectors, Arvato said.
“Bonded logistics is a key enabler for cross-border growth,” commented Umur Özkal, managing director at Arvato in Türkiye and the UAE. “With this investment, we are deliberately positioning Türkiye as a strategic execution hub within our global network.”
The expansion reflects Türkiye’s growing role as a logistics gateway between Europe and Asia and is part of the third-party logistics provider’s broader strategy to support international trade flows across Europe and global markets.
Arvato said that with an e-commerce volume of around US$90bn (c. £66bn), including approximately US$8bn (c. £5.8bn) in cross-border trade, the region remains one of its strategic growth markets.
The company is developing a nationwide network of bonded and non-bonded warehouse partners across Türkiye. The network is intended to increase resilience and scalability, allowing customers to adjust capacity in response to fluctuating cross-border volumes without impacting service levels.
In December, the 3PL broke ground on a 40,000m² (c. 430,000ft2) warehouse in Çayırova, Turkey, 50km south of Istanbul, with that unit expected to become operational in October 2026.
