ASMO has partnered with Arcapita Group Holdings to develop a 1.4 million m² (15 million ft²) purpose-built logistics facility at King Salman Energy Park (SPARK), in Saudi Arabia.
ASMO — a joint venture between Aramco and DHL Supply Chain — will develop, lease and operate the facility under a 22-year occupational lease. Arcapita will fund and retain long-term ownership of the facility. The deal reflects growing institutional appetite for logistics real estate aligned with the Kingdom’s industrial expansion.
The facility will include a 43,000m² (c. 463,000ft²) temperature-controlled Grade A warehouse, more than 3,000m² (c. 32,000ft²) of offices and staff facilities, 5,300m² (c. 57,000ft²) of dedicated chemical storage space and a 1.2 million m² open yard designed to accommodate large-scale industrial operations.
Advanced warehouse management systems, automated storage and retrieval systems, robotics integration and digital building management technology will be embedded throughout the site. The development is targeting LEED Gold certification and will incorporate photovoltaic readiness and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
Located between Dammam Seaport, Aramco’s Abqaiq facilities and Al Hasa, SPARK provides direct connectivity to Saudi Arabia’s energy and industrial ecosystem. The new hub is expected to strengthen supply chain resilience for Aramco and other major industrial operators while supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.
“ASMO’s new logistics hub at SPARK helps to strengthen Aramco’s supply chain resilience by delivering a centralized, high-efficiency facility in the heart of Saudi Arabia’s energy sector,” said Sulaiman Al Rubaian, Aramco senior vice president of procurement and supply chain management.
“As an anchor customer, we recognise the value of ASMO’s strategic investments in logistics infrastructure, demonstrating their ambition to delivering innovative, customer-focused solutions across the supply chain.”
