Australia Post has reported record highs during the 2025 peak season, delivering almost 111 million parcels in November and December, up 7.6% on the previous year.
The period also resulted in Australia Post’s busiest delivery day on record, with more than 3 million parcels delivered on Monday 8 December.
According to the postal service, 7.9 million Australian households shopped online in November and December 2025. Significant year-on-year growth was seen in athleisure (24.7%), women’s fashion (21.2%) and department store (15.7%) segments.
Nationally, online purchases were up 15.2% in Western Australia, 10% in Queensland and 9% in South Australia.
On average the 2025 peak season saw Australia post deliver 3,075 parcels every minute and make 2 million deliveries a day for more than 30 days, according to Gary Starr, Australia Post’s executive general manager parcel, post and ecommerce services.
Additionally, during the period, some 5.7 million Australians used the AusPost app to track their parcels with more than 119 million app visits.
“These results are the product of months of detailed planning, continued investment in our operations and network capacity and the extraordinary effort of our team members nationwide,” Starr said.
“As we turn our attention to the year ahead, we’re already preparing for the next peak period and identifying new ways to support our customers in a fast-evolving eCommerce landscape.”
