Power solutions provider AVK SEG has leased a 140,000ft² logistics unit at Haydock Green in Merseyside, marking its first operational base in the North of England.
The company has agreed a 15-year lease for Haydock 140 at a headline rent of £12.50/ft².
The unit will serve as a northern base for AVK, which supplies power solutions to data centres, AI infrastructure and major organisations across the UK and Europe.
Located at Junction 23 of the M6 motorway, the facility sits at the front of the Haydock Green scheme alongside a 377,000ft² distribution centre pre-let to healthcare logistics specialist Movianto.
Fieldstone Developments – a joint venture between Barnfield Construction and a private individual with funding from Together Money – developed the scheme. B8 Real Estate (B8RE) advised the developer from initial site acquisition through to design development, construction delivery and the successful letting to AVK during the build programme.
Jon Thorne, director at B8RE, joint letting agents with Colliers, commented: “Haydock 140 represents the most prominent building on the M6 corridor, combining landmark architecture with a best-in-class, high-specification design.”
“This investment is also significant for St Helens and the wider Liverpool City Region, bringing a significant number of high-quality employment opportunities and further reinforcing the area’s strength as a strategic business location.”
Tim Webber, chairman of Barnfield Construction, added: “We took the considered decision to speculatively deliver a state-of-the-art logistics facility capable of attracting a high-calibre occupier. The strength of the location, combined with the quality of design and specification, has proven compelling, and securing AVK underlines both the depth of demand and the long-term appeal of Haydock as a strategic distribution location.”
AVK was unrepresented in the transaction.
