DHL Supply Chain has started logistics operations for medical device company Mozarc Medical from its Sagamihara hub in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.
The contract logistics provider is supporting Mozarc, which provides kidney health solutions, from the Sagamihara site about 40km from central Tokyo.
The Sagamihara centre offers product storage, inventory management, labelling under a medical device manufacturing licence and nationwide distribution across Japan. It features frozen (-20°C), refrigerated (2-8°C) and ambient (15-25°C), for maintaining product quality.
Located with access to both Haneda and Narita Airports, the centre is also midway between Mozarc Medical’s research and development base in Fukuroi (Shizuoka Prefecture) and central Tokyo.
Aya Handa, vice president, APAC, Mozarc Medical Japan commented: “We are reassured to leverage DHL Supply Chain’s robust quality management system and healthcare logistics expertise to deliver our products safely and reliably to healthcare settings.”
Head of life science & healthcare sector at DHL Supply Chain Japan, Tilla Feldstein, added: “Handling of medical devices requires rigorous quality control and compliance, and our best-in-class quality management system in Japan ensures full alignment with these standards.”
