Logistics Manager will host a free webinar with Ocado Intelligent Automation (OIA) on 23 September at 2pm (BST), exploring how retailers can handle peak surges without lengthy, disruptive projects.
Titled Getting a Foothold on Peak Season, the session will unpack a recent Warehouse Shoe Sale (WSS) deployment and the operational levers behind its return on investment.
OIA says WSS faced escalating demand and unexpected spikes but opted to redesign fulfilment around flexibility, efficiency and speed rather than simply adding labour.
At the core was the Chuck autonomous mobile robot, combined with a data-driven approach that helped WSS process up to 90,000 units per day while reducing labour hours and lifting productivity by more than 50%.
The webinar will cover:
- How WSS scaled from manual carts to automation and the ROI behind the shift
- The methods used to boost labour efficiency and throughput during peak, lessons from a rapid 10-day deployment
- Strategies to future-proof operations and maximise pick efficiency across a diverse SKU range
