Industrial and logistics developer Indurent has submitted an outline planning application for a new logistics and employment hub on land southeast of Junction 16 of the M6 motorway in Staffordshire.
The plans will seek to deliver a industrial and logistics hub with approximately 2.3 million ft² of employment space across six development zones.
Designed to meet a minimum of BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and EPC ‘A+’ standards, Indurent reported that the new units will provide modern, energy-efficient workspace.
Indurent expects the scheme to generate up to 3,500 direct jobs, with an additional 1,200 roles supported through construction and the regional supply chain.
The development will also include a dedicated lorry park, new walking and cycling routes and extensive woodland planting.
Planning director at Indurent Damien Holdstock said: “Our plan represents a major investment in the West Midlands’ regional economy, delivering thousands of new jobs, while taking a landscape-led approach that opens up access to green space for the local community.
“The proposals follow extensive public consultation, and we are grateful to all those who contributed valuable feedback which has helped to shape our plans. We look forward to continuing to work closely with the community and local stakeholders as the plans progress.”
