Last‑mile logistics real estate company Mileway has signed a 10‑year lease with UK home improvement and garden retailer B&Q at its Ripple Road asset in Barking, East London.
Located just off the Ripple Road roundabout in East London, B&Q has taken Unit A, a unit of c. 40,000ft², which will operate under TradePoint, B&Q’s trade‑focused brand.
Mileway stated that the location enables fast, reliable access to dense urban markets and is well‑suited to trade‑focused operations and last‑mile distribution across Greater London.
The Ripple Road asset comprises two modern logistics units, totalling approximately 65,000ft², while B&Q’s c. 40,000ft² unit has been fully refurbished and is now operational.
The refurbishment programme has been carried out across the entire asset. Unit B, comprising c. 25,000ft², is also fully refurbished and available to let.
Mileway (UK & Ireland) co-head of real estate, Andrew Jones, said: “B&Q’s decision to open its first standalone TradePoint store at Ripple Road highlights the strength and versatility of our UK last‑mile logistics portfolio.
“We support a wide range of occupiers and operational formats, from trade‑focused retail to urban logistics, in locations that are critical to serving major cities.
“This letting reflects our commitment to the active management of our assets, with targeted refurbishment programmes that enhance building quality, sustainability and long‑term performance.”
