Satair has installed an AutoStore automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) at its Singapore facility, marking its third global automation deployment.
The installation follows similar systems in Hamburg, Germany and Dulles in the USA, forming part of Satair’s strategy to standardise and automate logistics operations across its global network. The company, part of Airbus Services, manages the storage and distribution of aircraft parts and tools to support maintenance operations worldwide.
The Singapore system, deployed and commissioned by Swisslog, uses 23 robots and 60,000 bins to handle approximately 80% of small and medium-sized inventory within the existing 1,000m² (c. 10,800ft²) footprint. The high-density, goods-to-person solution is designed to increase throughput, improve picking accuracy and support 24/7 operations.

“Our partnership with Satair continues to be a strong example of how advanced automation can transform aerospace logistics. By combining Swisslog’s integration expertise with AutoStore’s high-density storage technology, we are enabling Satair to scale efficiently and stay ahead of growing regional demand,” said Steven Xie, EVP and managing director, Swisslog APeC.
The project was supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board and is intended to strengthen the country’s position as a regional aerospace logistics hub.It also contributes to the nation’s ongoing efforts to advance digitalisation and build future-ready supply chain capabilities.
Andy Lee, managing director for Satair Asia-Pacific, said the investment would help ensure supply chain resilience and support fleet growth across the region.
“The inauguration of AutoStore in Singapore is a pivotal step in our transformative regional growth via technology. By integrating this advanced automation, we are ensuring that our supply chain remains resilient and ready to support the rapid fleet growth we see across Asia-Pacific. This investment reflects our commitment to providing consistent, value-added, world-class service levels to our customers,” Lee said.
