Marks & Spencer has awarded Wincanton three contracts worth some £275 million over five years.
The new contracts will see Wincanton managing Marks & Spencer’s home delivery network for furniture and large products as well as the distribution of general merchandise in the south of England. They also extend an existing agreement for the national management of shop fittings and store equipment.
Wincanton chief Graeme McFaull said: “We are delighted with this very significant expansion of our business with M&S, which creates a major new strategic partnership for Wincanton and confirms and strengthens our market-leading position in the retail sector.
“We look forward to working closely with M&S to achieve its environmental and operational goals and to delivering a store-based and home delivery supply chain that is both sustainable and cost-effective.”
