Outokumpu Stainless Distribution has renewed its distribution contract with Norbert Dentressangle for a further three years.
The transport operation involves a dedicated fleet of vehicles delivering stainless steel products throughout the UK on anything from a daily to weekly basis.
The deal extends a 20-year relationship and this renewal incorporates a number of changes following the enlargement of Outokumpu and a move to a single site, which matches distribution to peak production and eliminates empty vehicle running.
An EDI link from Outokumpu’s Baan production system integrates with Norbert Dentressangle’s SHARP system to provide pre-advice of shipments and allows ordering up to 4.00pm for next day delivery. Orders can also be tracked online.
