Automotive components supplier Magna Intier has taken delivery of a number of Flexi Euro forklift trucks at its Leipzig factory, which provides the interior trim for the newly launched Porsche Panamera.
Magna Intier also provides component parts and other services to a number of other car manufacturers including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Aston Martin. It uses the Flexi trucks to deliver components from an on-site storage warehouse directly to the production line.
Because of the articulated nature of the forklifts, the company has been able to reduce in fleet operating costs as it no longer needs both counterbalance and reach trucks to carry out work.
It has also increased storage capacity by 25 per cent compared to the reach truck solution.
