SSI Schaefer has installed a two-tier stores department for Ernest Doe’s new Braintree branch in Essex.
The family-owned business supplies agricultural, construction and ground care equipment and recently moved into the purpose built premises in order to cope with increasing workloads on the retail, parts and workshop side of the company.
SSI Schaefer has worked on a number of other projects with the business over th years. Construction of the new branch took place at Ernest Doe’s previous site which occupied a large area that was split into two areas – one sold to a supermarket chain and the other for a new build.
The new parts store is complete with Schaefer’s two-tier Regal 3000 modular shelving system, with open mesh steel flooring and 500mm deep shelves using Schaefer’s RK plastic shelf containers and TRF adjustable dividers.
A strong heavy-duty pallet racking system also provides storage for pallets and bulky products while a separate 50 sq m mezzanine floor adjoins the two tier structure.
The Braintree depot is the first new build for Ernest Doe that was constructed to the latest Building Regulations which has resulted in a BREEAM standard of Very Good.
