DB Schenker Rail has appointed Alain Thauvette head of Region West, as well as chief executive of DB Schenker Rail UK.
He will serve as a member of the management board of DB Schenker Rail and is also president of Euro Cargo Rail France, the French subsidiary of the company, which Thauvette set up in 2006.
Additionally, Region West includes the companies Transfesa ad Euro Cargo Rail Spain.
Thauvette takes over from Keith Heller who was appointed chief executive of English Welsh Scottish Railway in 2004, which was acquired by DB Schenker Rail in 2007.
