Cemex UK has extended its bulk contract with The Potter Group for a further 25 years signing two leases and two handling agreements.
Potter handled arrivals and despatches of some 350,000 tonnes of aggregate for Cemex in 2009. Product is shipped in by rail from the Peak Forest in Derbyshire. A total of 8.4 acres at Potter’s Selby and Ely centres is used to store road stone and sugar stone.
Potte reckons that using rail saves about 12,000 lorry journeys a year.
