Freshlinc Distribution, the Lincolnshire-based refrigerated distribution company, has expanded its fleet with an order of 17 SLX Spectrum units from Thermo King to be fitted to Gray and Adams trailers.
The units are designed to use up to 30 per cent less fuel and are 65 per cent quieter than the SL Spectrum thanks to the integration of low noise components running at lower speeds.
The SLX Spectrum also features combi-temperature and low fuel warning displays, which have helped to reduce breakdowns on fridges running out of fuel.
Freshlinc will use the units for deliveries of fresh produce to supermarkets around the UK, many of which are in urban environments and low emission zones.
