P&O Ferrymasters has designed and manufactured a custom-built frame to hold chlorine cylinders on a dedicated trailer for chemical distributor Brenntag Europe in Ireland.
John Campbell, P&O Ferrymasters’ commercial manager, said: We were approached by Brenntag Europe to design and implement a tailor-made solution for a specialised area of transport.”
The chlorine cylinders are regularly transported from Runcorn in Cheshire to Ireland. Successful trials led to further talks which resulted in a solution and a new partnership.
Once the full cylinders have been transported to Dublin, the trailers are immediately reloaded with the empties and shipped back into Liverpool.
