Fraikin, the contract hire and rental operator, has appointed former Ryder managing director Peter Backhouse as UK chief executive.
Backhouse spent 11 years in senior positions with Ryder between 1997 and 2008, including seven years as vice president and managing director of Ryder’s European business.
In his most recent role he was managing director of Bunzl Healthcare.
Laurent Bonnaure, executive vice president international at Fraikin Group said: “Peter’s wealth of industry knowledge and expertise makes him ideally suited to lead Fraikin Ltd. The UK is a major region for the Group and one in which we are targeting continued strong growth.”
