Neptune Orient Lines, the container shipping group, has reported that its average revenue per container is now 38 per cent higher than a year ago.
For the four week period to 17th September, average revenue per forty foot equivalent unit was $3,104 – up from $2,247 last year. The volume of traffic was up six per cent to 217,500 FEU, mainly due to higher volumes carried on the Transpacific and Asia Europe trade lanes.
For the year to date, the number of containers handled was up 29 per cent while average revenue was 21 per cent up at $2,799.
